I traveled on Aer Lingus from London to Dublin to visit Ireland. Heathrow was extremely crowded as travel are bouncing back. We visited Aer Lingus Lounge at Heathrow. Then, to the surprise, We received an upgrade to Business Class onboard the new Aer LingusA321LR. Flight to Dublin was a short 55 minutes hop. After landing in Dublin, We went to plane-spotting at Dublin Airport. The next day We drove around the Irish countryside to visit Galway, Cliff of Mohr and Shannon. The scenery and people are both lovely in Ireland.
After 2 days, We flew out of Dublin to Toronto on another brand new Aer LingusA321LR. Aer Lingus has decent Business Class products and We particularly enjoyed the meal onboard.
There are pros and cons of flying narrowbody A321 Transatlantic. It saves time as a direct flight without connecting at major hub airports but the single-aisle takes longer time to board, and may not have all the space as a widebody airplane has. The A321LR/XLR will become regular sights on TransAtlantic flights in the near future.
